In momentul nasterii, creierul unui copil contine circa 14 miliarde celule, numar care nu mai creste pana la sfarsitul vietii. Dupa varsta de 25 de ani, creierul uman incepe sa piarda pana la 100.00 de celule zilnic. Dupa varsta de 50 de ani creierul uman isi reduce simtitor volumul.
